Radicchio

 

Radicchio can be:

  • Steamed and added to dishes such as risotto or pasta

  • stirfried in asian style meals such as fried rice

  • BBQ'd  - cut into quarters and brush with oil

  • Baked on a pizza

  • Eaten raw in a hot or cold salad with goats cheese and nuts

 

Eating one serve (approx 75g) of Radicchio will benefit your bones, joints, brain, nervous system, heart and immune system as well as hydrating your body. The red colour in Radicchio  comes from the anthocyanin group of phytonutrients.*

 

Radicchio is a type of Chicory, and is also known as Italian Chicory. This variety came from the region of Chioggia, in the provence of Venice in Italy.

 

 

Radicchio is planted weekly from March to September.

It will be available at good greengrocers from Brisbane to Melbourne.
